I was out planting tomatoes and peppers this morning. I had a few pots that had plants in them, but some look dead; of frost, maybe? (Could not possibly have been from neglect!) Anyway, this one pot has signs of life in it, and a tag.
Strophanthus Preussii
So I came in and googled that image. This is it!I don't remember where I got it, and I sure can't imagine why it was out in the vegetable garden. It has the common name of 'Tassel vine', or 'poison arrow vine'. I am going to check and see if Caldwell Nursery carries this plant. If it dies now, I need to get another one. LOL (now that I know about it.)
I planted 12 peppers, of various varieties, and 16 tomatoes of various varieties. I have 3 more varieties of tomatoes to plant, but they are not quite ready to transplant. Past that, I have to put in squash, cucumbers, zucchini, and last, beans. It is a bit cool still, and the pecan trees have not started swelling buds, so I am going to wait a little while for those. They will all be seeds planted, so the soil needs to be a little warmer.
I am so tickled with that vine!

wow! Now you'll have to take care of it:)
I have no idea where I got it, and I don't know why it was setting out there in the vegetable garden.
Maybe the garden fairies are being mischievous. Do you think they may have pilfered it from another gardener? LOL
