RED...my favorite!

I bought this amaryllis bulb at WalMart. It turned out so pretty. It pleases me, even though it is a common amaryllis. I would like to have a whole bed full of these flowers, especially at this time of year.

Nice color, Janie. I have two bulbs on the go at the moment, but we'll have to wait a while for blooms. One is from last year. If I find a picture of it, I'll post it.

From your title, I thought it would just be a plain red, but this one is very pretty. And not so tall that is is falling over, I hate that.

They're all my favorite. In time, you will have a bed full.

There's a house in town where there is a huge bed of red, a smaller bed of pink and a beginning bed of orange.

I look forward to seeing more of your amaryllis later.

Hi Janie,

I definitely need to try growing Amaryllis. I haven't before, and the flowers are so beautiful.

Beautiful amaryllis! I haven't grown any for a few years, but these great pics make me want to do it again. :)

Magnificant specimen. Indigenous to where I am from. Mysterious lilies, these, sometimes only get three blooms, other times two. Having four is the ultimate achievement. :-)

I used to have one but it died in a drought during the 80s.

Janie your amaryllis is just beautiful! This is my first year for growing them and I am now hooked ;-) I love the giant blooms and they do not run me out of the house like paper whites do. The smell gets to me and my son so I had to put them out the door:-)
Merry Christmas to you and yours Janie!
