A favorite of mine.....

I have several Angels Trumpets, but this is my favorite. It is called 'Shredded Hankie', (botanical not on the tip of my tongue, but I can look at my records). It blooms at the same time as all the other Brugs, but this one just has a really unusual blossom.

The form, I mean.

It looks like a wadded up kleenex, I swear it does. It never opens more than shown in this picture. I just love it!

I haven't cut it yet, but will in the next few days.

I had a bid on one like that last winter on eBay and lost out at the last minute. I haven't seen any from reputable people lately. I would love to take you up on it. Let me know what I need to do. Thanks!

I noticed that I should have been more precise on my website. That's "Bunny Larkspur" from a package you sent me back in the spring. I tossed it out a few weeks ago. All the recent rains have helped it along.

Beautiful blooms - We get "cut down" by winter..but I love the other seasons - My garden had snow on top of the fall colors. Really quite beautiful for a day or two. I'm pretty new at blogging - I'm at www.ahealthygardener.com

Tom, I can't wait for my larkspur to come up, and the poppies, and the snaps, and the viola...

Gloria, I tried to respond to your message at that URL, but it said your profile was private.

Thank you for your message.

Wow,

That's a beauty!

I looked at the bloom before I read the text and thought to myself; "it looks like a crumpled napkin or handkerchief." Then I read the text and had a "d'oh moment."

Sure Janie go ahead and call it a flower if you want but me thinks you may be covering up some Halloween retaliation for handing out seed packs instead of Snickers.
LOL
By the way, when did you get the new herd?

Hi Janie, what an interesting flower! It really does look like a shredded hanky too, good naming for a change! :-)

I was browsing thru Blotanical when I came upon this post today. I'm sorry now that I did not comment because you left such nice comments on my blog. I have several brugs and one that has not bloomed. I was just looking at it and hoping it might be something like this one you show here. It is really neat. Does it have a scent?

The name of your blog sure caught my eye. I'm a bit of a plant collector too, but trying to work a good design in too. Unfortunately that means I have to edit and that is most hard to do. I just found half a dozen oak leaf seedlings and trying to figure out where to put them. Like I need more. Sigh. It could be worse, we could collect something like cars which is what my husband collects. Ha! Give me plants anyday:)

Thats a pretty plant, wonder if the fragrance is captivating.

It does have a fragrance, but it is not overpowering. It is stronger at night.
